M.Sc. (Scientific Computing) - Entrance Exam 2025

Admission to M.Sc. (Scientific Computing) programme for the acedemic year 2025-2026 will be through online entrance exam. This entrance exam will be conducted by Savtribai Phule Pune University in online mode. More details about Online Exam.

The Entrance examination will be of 100 marks with multiple choice questions (MCQ). The entrance paper will conists of two sections with 1/4 -ve marks for every wrong answer.
1. Section I (20-Question) - General knowledge / aptitude / logic / comprehension - 20 marks
2. Section II (40-Questions) - Subject specific - 80 marks (see below for syllabus)

Eligibility

• B.C.S./B.Sc. (Computer Science)
• B.E./B.Tech. (Computer Science/ IT /E & TC/Instrumentation & allied areas)
• It is required that the candidates had Mathematics at 11th & 12th standards.
• The admissions will be done in accordance with the Ordinance No. 181 - A (Ordiance No. 181-A)

Syllabus for entrance examination

The entrance for M.Sc. - Scientific Computing will have two sections. Section A will contain question on english and general aptitude. Section B for will contain the following:

• Mathematics
  
  • Functions, Polynomial Equations, Elementary Calculus, Geometry, Mensuration, Matrices, Liner Equations, Combinatorics, Probability, Statistics, Set Theory, Venn Diagrams and Graphs
• Computer Science
  • Computer Fundamentals, C - Programming, Algorithms (Searching, sorting, time complexities, etc) and Data Structures (Stack, Queue, Link list, trees, etc.).

• Number of Questions : 60 (20 Questions Apptitude (1 marks)  & 40 Questions Section B(2 marks))
• Total Marks : 100
• Negative marking : -1/4 for each WRONG answer

• Reserved Category : 600/-

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FEES ONCE PAID SHALL NOT BE REFUNDED IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INCLUDING THE FEES OF THE NON ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES SUCH AS NON-SCIENCE GRADUATES OR CANDIDATES NOT HAVING MATHEMATICS AT 12^th LEVEL.
